Rolandus Channel
To improve the water discharge from the Great Salt Pond and to protect Philipsburg against flooding during the hurricane season the Rolandus Channel was widened and hard-surfaced.
The channel entails a four meter wide concrete floor with concrete walls of average two meter high.
The channel starts at the pump house of the Government and connects to an existing channel leading to Bobbies Marina.
